Product Information:
All the mechanical properties of supplied PVC like tensile strength and elongation before and after aging should meet IEC 60502-1 and BS 7655 requirements and the values indicated in the technical data as below. All the tests are conducted in accordance with IEC 60811.
The insulation of standard wiring cables is PVC grade Type TI 1 of BS 7655 (formerly BS 6746) suitable for a maximum continuous conductor operating temperature of 70'C.
The bedding normally consists of a layer of extruded PVC for cables to BS 5467 and BS 6346.
The standard finish of all cables consists of an extruded black PVC oversheath, the external surface of which is embossed with the appropriate legend. The oversheath PVC grade is usually Type TM 1 or Type 9 to BS 7655 although other grades, e.g., Type 5 (85°C Hard) PVC or PVC sheath with anti-termite properties can be provided when specified. The PVC grade is ST2 for
cables conforming to IEC 60502- 1 standard.
